Chapter 12: Cry of the Hunters FINAL ENTRY

Chapter 12: Cry of the Hunters FINAL ENTRY
Perspective of Ralph
Lord of the Flies

In chapter 12, I was hiding from Jack's tribe. Because obviously i was the only one left that was on my side, you could say. So I ended up hiding in the thickets. I was all alone for most part. And had no food, But thanks to SamnEric, they got me meat from Jack's tribe. So I didn't have to starve! I was upset SamnEric was a part of Jack's tribe. But I realised they only were because he forced them to. How evil is that? While I was hiding, Jack's tribe tried to flush me by throwing rocks at me in my hiding spot. It hurt a bit, but it scared me away. As I fleed to the beach, I discover a Naval Officer. It was shocking! I was so relieved! Soon fallowing after me Jack noticed the Naval officer on the beach aswell. There was a littlun that couldn't remember his name. Wait can I? Oh yes! His named was Percival, and then a long last named. Too bad I can't remember. Oh wait, its Madison! While on the beach, for one time on the island Jack didn't take responsibility as the Leader. Which he said he was, until now. Shockingly, the Naval Officer was disappointed in us because somehow, someone had murdered two innocent boys, and we lit the whole island on fire! Well so long journal, Im off the Island now. And Jack unfortunately didn't pay for his actions on the Island.

10. Why is the naval officer disappointed in the boys?

Chapter 11: Castle Rock

CHAPTER 11 CASTLE ROCK

1. In the beginning of the chapter, what does Piggy tell Ralph to do with the conch?
In the beginning of the chapter, Ralph uses the conch to call one finally assembly for all the boys.

2. What reason will Piggy give Jack for the return of his glasses?
Piggy needs glasses because he can't see without them. So he wants Jack to do the right thing, and return them.
3. What does Ralph declare their appearance will be when they approach Jack?
Clean, fresh & Normal. Unlike being savages.
4. Who challenges the boys on their approach to Castle Rock?
The boys run into Roger.
5. When Jack appears, what has he been doing?
He was hunting and came back with a pig with the head cut off.
6. What does Ralph call Jack that provokes a fight?
Ralph calls Jack a Thief!
7. What happens to Samneric after the fight?
Jack forces them to join his tribe.
8. What is Roger doing during Piggy’s plea for a return to decency?
Roger is up above piggy on the top of castle rock, getting ready to push the boulder on to Piggy.

9. Write a STRONG PARAGRAPH about who is responsible for Piggy’s death and why.

I think that Jack is fully responsible for Piggy's death. If you notice, Roger is a part of Jack's tribe, and is also somewhat like Jack right-hand-man. Through-out the book, Jack really disliked Piggy. That would give a good reason to want to kill him. Through the book Jack also had an urge to kill. He didn't want to get in trouble for murder, so he had his partner do it; Roger. Either way, Jack is at fault for the murder.

Chapter 10: The Shell and the Glasses

Chapter 10: The Shell and the Glasses

Dear Journal,
The other night I was zoning in onto Piggy & Ralph's conversation about my death. Ralph thought that my death was all thanks to Jack. As If he did it on purpose. Piggy thought that it was all an accident, because they thought I was the beastie. Both of them seemed pretty secure with their opinion. But when you think about it; Wouldn't they realise that I was an actual human, after they had been stabbing me and brutally murdering me? It just doesn't make sense. I'm surprised Ralph didn't do more to save me, he seemed to know what was going on. But Piggy on the other hand, I really have no Idea what he was thinking at the time.

I also over heard Jack and his own tribe talking to eachother. Jack said that one of the rules, was not to let Ralph's tribe get his main spot, which was the Castle Rock. Jack has an evil mind, and probably anger problems aswell. Jack tied up one of the littluns in his tribe, named Wilfred. Just because he pissed Jack off. Jack also said after my death, that I was the beast in disguise. Meaning that it was a good thing I was killed in the first place. Jack isn't a good person, especially compared to Ralph. Jack planned with Maurice and Roger to take Piggy's glasses while they were sleeping. That was a smart idea. Because with those glasses they can start a fire.

Jack and his tribe ends up stealing Piggy's glasses. With this again, they can start a fire. Which means they are leaders, and In charge. Soon after the glasses were stolen. Piggy was murdered. Roger pushed the boulder on top of Castle rock, onto Piggy. Thus, murdering him. If he had his glasses on during the time, Im sure he wouldn't be dead like me right now.

Chapter 8: A Gift for the Darkness, & Chapter 9: A View to a Death

Chapter 8: A Gift for the Darkness

The scene from chapter 8 & 9 that I chose was when the Lord of the flies was speaking to Simon. I think this scene really shows you what true human kind is about. In the scene, Simon stumbles across the 'Lord of the Flies'. Which is really a dead pig's head stuck onto a stick. The pig starts talking to Simon about many things. But it isn't actually talking, its just Simon's imagination. The Pig head goes on about the dark side of Human Nature. He starts to mock Simon in a way. Saying that he will never defeat him. But hes referring to never getting away from that dark side thats in everyone. Simon was hallucinating when he was talking to the pig. Simon gets warned that he's going to die. Soon after Simon ends up dying, thanks to the 'Dark side' of human nature. I think the terryfing part of this, is that somehow the Author proves the bad side in everyone. And how it is true, its not just a myth or anything.

Chapter 9: A View to a Death

CLAIM: I really do think, that it was Jack's fault. It's just an obvious fact. Who can trust that boy?

CONCRETE DETAILS: It is told, that soon after Simon's death; Jack says that Simon was the beast in disguise. Which means he purposely killed Simon, along with the rest of the boys. Also, Jack is in general a mean person. Ofcourse he'd want to kill Simon after he converted to Ralph's side.

COMMENTARY: I think that It is all Jack's fault that Simon was killed. Earlier in the book Jack had a weird wanting to kill. He also says later that Simon was the beast in disguise. The whole book was mostly about finding the beast, and Jack wanted to kill it. Wouldn't that mean that Jack wanted to kill the one he thought was the beast; Simon? I think that Jack was just angry at Simon from the fact that he did switch to Ralph's side.

CONCLUSION: In conclusion, It was clearly Jack's fault. Everyone knows Jack would have wanted to kill Simon anyways. In the book, Jack is portrayed as the dark character, While Ralph is the good one. So In this case it would give Jack an even better reason to have killed Simon. You cant imagine anyone else killing him. Jack is responsible for Simon's death, Also along with Piggy's death.

Chapter 7 - Shadows and talls trees

Lord of the Flies
Chapter 7 - Shadows and talls trees
"Kill the what?! "
Perspective: Simon

* What is the game the boys play after spearing the pig? Who spears the pig? Describe the mood of the boys afterwards.

The rest of the boys reenacted the scene after Ralph threw the spear at the pig. After that the rest of the boys felt so confident, with an adrenalin rush that ran through their bodies with dun.

* Jack suggests, “You could get someone to dress up as a pig and then he could act, you know, pretend to knock me over and all that.” Robert said that they need a real pig because it has to be killed. What does Jack suggest as a substitute? What does this foreshadow?

An impervious littun was used to roleplay as the pig, while they practiced their pig-killing trick.

* What evidence did the boys find to prove that there is a beast? (Why are they so gullible?)

Well the boys believed these sudden things that led them to believe there was an actual beast. They were so windy .
It led me to be filled with dun .

IF YOU ARE SIMON OR PIGGY

How do you feel about the game the boys play after spearing the pig?

I think that all the boys are taking it to another level. I mean, its just a pig! Calm down. Its so not sagely of them.

Chapter 6: Beast from Air

Beast from Air
'What a Jerk!'
Perspective of Piggy
* What sign comes down from the grown up world?
The boys and I notice a man falling from the sky on a parachute. He seemed dead. He also seemed to be maybe, an Aviator of a plane.
* Why aren’t the boys aware of it?
I think the boys aren't aware of it, because it was dark, and un-noticeable. They didn't notice it was an actual human.
* Why are Sam ‘n Eric so terrified?
Eric & Sam are terrified because they imagined they saw this scary beast! Even though it was just there imagination. It was late at night, and dark at that. They had no Idea it was a guy on a parachute.
* How do Sam ‘n Eric describe the beast?
Sam & Eric described the beast as a scary monster. With big claws, and lots of scary teeth. But it was only their imagination!
* What is the attitude of the boys when going off to look for the beast?
Most of the boys, just wanted to go and hide. But Jack and the rest of the hunters wanted to try and hunt for the beast. And kill it! Even though that meanie is just showing off! What a jerk.
* Is there really a beast? How do you know?
I don't really believe there is a beast. I think that little kid with the birth mark was just making things up! I think its just everyone's imaginatoin, and everyone's taking it a bit too seriously!

IF YOU ARE PIGGY

Why do you only have “one eye”?
I only have one eye, because of my glasses. One of the glasses is shattered, so I can only see out of one.

Chapter 5: Beast from Water

Chapter 5- Beast From Water
"Its not all that easy!"
Perspecive- Ralph

Why is an assembly called?
The assembly was called, because most of the boys weren't doing there Jobs.
What concerns are brought up?
Some concerns were, how people were going to the bathroom near the sleeping area, and not the rock. And also the beastie, and how people were scared of it. Thats just ludicrous.
How do you feel about those concerns?
I think that these problems can easily be solved, and we all need to skip to reality, if we want to survive.
How are things breaking up (falling apart)?
Well things aren't going too well with the boys. Jack and I don't get along. He just cares about things that aren't as important! Like hunting! And he didn't even watch the far, so now we're stuck here even longer.
Why do you think the littluns cry in their sleep?
I'm pretty sure the littluns cry because they're scared. They are scared of the beastie, and that it might attack or something. I mean, if I was that young I would be afraid too.
What was Percival Wemys Madison afraid of?
Percival is scared of the Beastie. I don't blame him though, most of the other littluns are too. Its a bad thing.
What do you think is “the dirtiest thing there is” about human nature?
I think the most dirty thing about human nature would be selfishness. People only think about themselves, and its terrible. Especially on this deadly Island.

IF YOU ARE RALPH-

1. What is your attitude about decision making and being a chief?
My additude revolves around responsibility. Somebody has to do it. So I did It. I think that the boys would be much safer with me as chief, then Jack.
2. How have you changed (shown yourself to be a dynamic character) since the beginning of this experience on the island?
